Details are a photographer best friends
More than half season has passed and I can say that this is – for now – my favorite wedding of 2018.
Eleonora and Matteo got married in Torcello in the ancient church of Santa Fosca last June.
The getting ready and the reception took place at the famous Locanda Cipriani, a location so unique and renowned that it doesn’t need any introduction. Throughout this event, during which I shooted from the getting ready to the cut of the wedding cake at the end of the reception, I dedicated a lot to details and colors: not only the protagonists of the day were particularly beautiful, but everything that the couple had planned for their wedding gave me the right inspiration to take many different pictures. I always love to photograph what is around the scene, which is often more interesting than the scene itself.
Of course, covering these events alone without any assistant I can not dedicate myself exclusively to what’s “around” forgetting the essential moments of a wedding, but when I can I like to turn around the moment, to capture situations and feelings that last for a second, getting a wide variety of images that are all different and suggestive.
In the case of this wedding, I was particularly interested in the colors chosen for the flowers and the setting up, at the bride’s shoes – which were just fantastic! -, to her beautiful tattoos, and then there were the guests with polaroids taking pictures of the guestbook, there was the priest sipping a Bellini sitting in the shade after the ceremony, there were the bridesmaids who took off their shoes to run barefoot on the grass, the children, the candles in the church, the table full of marshmallows.. there was so much to see and tell, and every single detail gave me a sweet feeling that I relive every time I see these photographs; a nice and funny wedding, a couple so in love and a unique and colorful wedding party.
